Start Your Day The Green Chia Smoothie Way

They fail because they are still based around processed foods and if you continue to eat these things you are not likely to succeed in your health, fitness or weight loss goals. You are still eating the very things that throw your hormones “out of whack” and while they are all over the place you are going to have a very hard time losing weight.

If you do one thing to improving your health and losing excess fat weight it should be adding this shake into your life on a daily basis. This puts you on the nutrient-dense eating track which will not only get you healthier, it quells the cravings.

The key is to start your day by making this shake every morning and try and drink some of it within an hour of waking up. If you don’t drink all of what you made you can easily tote it with you in a cooler bag for your mid-day pick-me-up.

Create the perfect Health Shake:

  • Select your protein
  • Add your fiber
  • Add your fruit
  • Add water, ice and blend

Basic Health Shake recipe:

1 scoop of protein powder (whey or plant based)

1 serving frozen fruit (frozen or fresh organic berries is perfect0

Liquid (water, unsweetened coconut water, almond** or any nut mild)

Add-ins:

1 tablespoon of nut butter

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 fresh (or frozen) green leaf of some kind (Swiss chard, kale, spinach) or 1 scoop greens powder

2 tablesppons-1/4 cup coconut milk*

Do not use the watered down “lite’ kind of coconut milk or cream if you buy in a can. The fat in coconut is the healthiest fat in the world so do not be afraid to use it. You can also make your own almond milk by blending 1 cup of raw almonds in 2 cups of water in a high speed blender. Strain the milk and keep in the fridge.

Chia seeds are essential and are the magic ingredients for filling you up and staving off hunger pains for at least four or more hours. It simply does not work as well without them so make every effort you can to include them.

Drinking your Health Shake first thing in the morning is easy and satisfying and you won’t have to worry about eating for hours. If you must you can snack on an apple or a handful of nuts and or some yoghurt with some protein powder stirred in.
